Job description

As a data engineering tribe lead, you will be part of Nemeon's core management team. Your daily tasks will be a mix of (1) data architect work, (2) technical troubleshooting, (3) team management and (4) development of Nemeon's data engineering activities. A list of tasks (non-exhaustive): 

  1. You are in charge of a small team (currently 4) of data engineers with the ambition to grow this team. You are assisted by one data engineering tech lead. 
  2. You help the managing partners with pre-sales activities (especially from a technical perspective). 
  3. You are responsible for upskilling new hires. 
  4. You enjoy the mix of managerial and technical tasks. 
  5. You can deal with ambiguity but are keen to bring structure. 

Job requirements

As you will be the one in charge of a growing team, the ideal candidate holds a mix of both technical and managerial skills. Important: this is a position that requires to be on-site for up to three days a week. 


  1. You hold at least a Bachelor degree in a relevant domain such as computer science. 
  2. You have at least 5 years of experience in a data engineering role.
  3. You are good at programming (languages used here: Python, SQL, Scala, R). 
  4. You enjoy taking the lead and you harbor an entrepreneurial mindset. 
  5. You don't mind talking to customers. 
  6. You have experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Databricks is a plus) 
  7. You have experience with infrastructure as code (e.g.: Terraform) 
  8. As this is a managerial role, you need to speak English and Dutch (fluently) - any other language is an asset.
  9. You hold a driver's license (B)
